The MICHELIN Guide Thailand was recently launched in early December 2017 and has named 17 restaurants worthy of its coveted stars.
Leading the pack is none other than Gaggan, Le Normandie and Mezzaluna, with two stars each. While Jay Fai was the only street vendor to earn a single star.

Seven of those awarded single stars serve Thai cuisine by local Thai chefs, such as Chim by Siam Wisdom, where the chef revamps classic Thai recipes, producing a fine balance between tradition and modernity, as well as local and global influences.

An additional 35 were awarded the Bib Gourmand award, recognised for serving high-quality food for less than THB 1000 (Approx. S$41).
Some of the lesser-known gems that impressed the MICHELIN inspectors were Baan Yai Phad Thai, one of the best places for Phad Thai; and Guay Tiew Kua Gai Suanmali, a long-standing stir-fried chicken noodle shop.
